Privacy Policy for Blink and Die

Last updated: 13 July 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile game Blink and Die (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use it. The App is published on the Google Play Store.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

Blink and Die is a survival horror game. We designed it to collect as little information as possible:

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Camera (front-facing) — processed on-device only

The App requires access to your front camera to detect blinks, which is the core gameplay mechanic. Face and eye detection is performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit’s on-device face detection.

2.2 Anonymous game identifier and progress data

To support the online leaderboard, the App signs you in using Firebase Anonymous Authentication. This creates a random anonymous user ID. It does not require or collect any personal details.

Using this anonymous ID, we store the following gameplay data in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore):

This data is not personally identifiable and cannot be used to contact or identify you.

2.3 Advertising data

The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob. To serve ads, Google may collect and process certain information, which can include:

Google’s use of this data is governed by Google’s own privacy policies. See Section 4.

2.4 Data stored locally on your device

Your game preferences, unlocked levels, and best times are also saved locally on your device (using local storage). This information stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App.

2.5 Connectivity checks

The App checks whether an internet connection is available to decide whether to sync leaderboard data. These checks do not collect personal information.

2.6 In-app updates

The App uses Google Play’s in-app update feature to prompt you to install the latest version. This is handled by Google Play Services and does not involve collection of personal data by us.

3. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above only to:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your information for any purpose other than operating the App.

4. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob In-app advertising https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543

These services are provided by Google. Google’s handling of any data it collects is governed by the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

5. Advertising and Your Choices

Ads are served by Google AdMob. You can control ad personalization and reset or limit your advertising identifier through your device settings:

6. Data Retention

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App uses the camera and displays ads, please supervise younger players. If you believe a child has provided information that should be removed, contact us using the details in Section 10.

8. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Depending on your location, you may have rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California), including the right to access, correct, or delete your data.

Because we store only an anonymous ID with game progress and no personal identifiers, we cannot directly identify you. To request deletion of leaderboard/progress data associated with your device’s anonymous ID, contact us at the email in Section 10, or simply uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data.

9. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. Data stored in Firebase is protected by Google’s infrastructure security. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
